CHARLES RAMBO

Charles D. Rambo has dedicated his entire life to public service. Born and raised in Gary, Indiana, Rambo's calling began when he enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserve, where his resilient leadership skills were honed in state and overseas missions in taking action and achieving results. 

After relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, in 1987, he enrolled in Gupton-Jones Mortuary College, a decision that would further prepare his destiny to run for Fulton County Sheriff.

Fearless & Focused on Results, Rambo's 34-year career in the Fulton County Sheriff's Office is a testament to an unwavering stance for the workforce and citizens. Rising through the ranks from Sheriff's Deputy to Lieutenant, his Sheriff public policy expertise is unparalleled by an extensive portfolio of law enforcement training from the Georgia Peace Officer's Standards and Training Council to include (not limited to:

• Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, and Senior Deputy Sheriff
• SWAT, High-Risk Criminal Warrant Execution, and Dignitary Protection
• Criminal, Homicide, and Gang Investigations
• Mental Health and Substance Abuse Commitments
• Law Enforcement Supervision 120 and Management 120
• Command Level Field Training Officer
• General Instructor and Senior Instructor

Rambo also has completed federal training as an:

• Intelligence Analyst: US Department of Homeland Security
• Part 107, Drone Operator: Federal Aviation Administration

Rambo has worked and supervised Sheriff-based jail, courts, law enforcement, training academies, and tactical and intelligence units from Sergeant to Lieutenant Commander. In 2009, his resilience became the call to action to end a federal consent decree over the embattled county jail, setting a benchmark for excellence. Thanks to the successful implementation of the Harvard Kennedy School's Innovations in Government award-winning Compstat program, Rambo cemented his reputation as a force of justice who can inspire change. He was featured in the Law & Order magazine and invited as the keynote speaker on his Compstat accomplishments before the African Americans in Human Resources. He was also honored with the Pinnacle Leadership Award by the Fortitude Educational Foundation.

A highly regarded Senior Instructor in Georgia, Rambo  is known for dynamic, Socratic lectures that challenge new leaders to embrace 21st-century policing. With expertise in sheriff public policy, constitutional law, human resources, and labor relations, he has trained thousands of state-wide peace officers and authored a state-accredited curriculum on Sheriff Legitimacy, Procedural Justice, and Community Relations.

Having been elected three consecutive terms as the President of the International Brotherhood of Police Officers, Fulton County Deputies Local 453, with later appointments to the national executive board and as a national vice president, from the Fulton County Government Center to the Gold Dome to Capitol Hill, Rambo worked diligently to influence public safety policy in these capacities. His most notable achievement was testifying with constitutional brevity before the Fulton County Blue Ribbon Commission in preventing state legislators from abolishing or appointing the Office of Fulton County Sheriff.

As an expert consultant, Rambo has provided best-in-class training, policy, and supervisory standards for the Morehouse College Police Department. He also has served on the advisory board for the criminal justice degree program at DeVry University and invited criminal justice lecturer at Clark Atlanta University. During his career, Rambo was the lead agent in charge of dignitary protection for Oscar Award-winning actors, Grammy artists, faith-based leaders, and elected officials. 

As the Chief Development Officer of Rambo Solutions, LLC, Rambo shares his real-world expertise to lecture on law enforcement issues in accredited webinars before global students. He also provides expert media commentary on public safety-related news stories and is an expert witness in civil litigation. In 2023, Rambo was invited as a guest lecturer before the Georgia School of Addiction on Gang Awareness for Mental Health Counselors and on Gun Violence in America before the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Certification Board of Georgia.
